Mirroring Smartboard to AT iPad

Hi, 

I am looking for a way to help  a student who has a visual impairment and has now gotten access to an iPad Pro. What I'm looking for is a way to Mirror what is on the Promethean Smartboard onto the students device.  I've looked at Remote desktop but my fear is that the child touching the screen would then effect whats on the board for all?

Promethean Screenshare works the opposite way to broadcast the iPad screen onto the board but it would be excellent for the child's engagement to have something which works the other way. Any advice would be great.

Hi Shane,

As far as I’m aware there are very limited ways to do this.

The ideal way (which is no help to you) is to share via a desktop/laptop Mac. This is a simple process… but not from the Smartboard.

The difficulty is that [as far as I know] Promethean boards use a version of Android. You would need a piece of software to “push” the video image externally over Wifi to the iPad.

I haven’t heard of such a thing existing, but it might be worth reaching out to Promethean to see if they have a solution.

One thing I do know is that the iPad Pro range (with USB C) can be used as a wired monitor. This means you should be able to plug it directly to a device and have it act as a monitor.

Of course, this may not be suitable given distance, etc.

Thanks for all your suggestions. That Cleverboard solution looks like an excellent feature but doesn't seem possible on my ActivPanel. We're a google based school so I've settled with just sharing my desktop screen onto the Activ Panel and also the iPad through a chrome extension as a workaround for now.

Hi Shane,

The casting application that is provide with the Ctouch boards we provid also allows the screen of the interactive board to be shared to connected laptops. You need to check if this is a feature of the boards you currently use.
