Booking System for Chromebook Trolley

Hi everyone.

Would really appreciate some advice regarding the following:

We are putting in place a chromebook trolley system at the moment (this forum was a great help in choosing the ones that we bought)  but need to devise a relatively simple booking method whereby a teacher can book a trolley for a particular room and time. 

We heard of one school using VS Ware for this but our school is Eportal. 

All staff are using GSuite but the vast majority are still unfamiliar with Google Calendar, which I've heard is being used as a booking system in some schools as well.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. We need something accessible and simple but, ideally, a bit more effective than a photocopied booking  sheet stuck up in the staffroom.

Hi Michael,

I put up a google doc on the shared drive on a Friday for the following 2 weeks and let folks book in their slot. This is working well so far, as it's updated immediately and saved. I delete the old one then.

Hi Michael,

 

I haven’t tried it myself but there is a section in the Google Admin Console that is for managing Buildings and Resources.

 

When we got the small bit of training we did get this was pointed out to us a way of booking rooms/halls etc. for meetings/classes etc. But it also allows for the listing and booking of resources.

 

So maybe you could set the trolley up as a resource and share its use that way???

 

Never tried it, like I said, but it might be your magic bullet solution.
