Hi All, is it possible to add a narration to Google slides for
playback on a presentation?

Hi Hetty,

Yes, you can insert audio on slides. You can do numerous recordings per slide also if you wish.

Once you have your audio recorded, upload it to your drive and insert it via the "Insert" function on the toolbar, then select "Audio"

Hi Damien, thank you. I was hoping to play slide and run the narration at the same time - I will give it a go. I thoUght certain versions of PowerPoint had a facility to record a narration straight onto a slide instead of recording the narration on a separate file?

Not ideal but you could make the slides & then present them while recording yourself in google meet

Thanks to you all, recording direct using laptop picks up noise - used phone to record - playsback ok - will see how it works out for playback on smart tv. Kind Regards

Sorry for the delay Helen. You can record a full narration in powerpoint and play it as a video. You would need powerpoint for this though. That functionality isn't yet available currently in slides.

Yeah I think Clare is onto something, I was going to suggest doing the same but using Zoom to record. You'll have your presentation recorded for later use

You can play slides and run narration PROVIDED that you save audio in your Google drive, not desktop etc
