My name is Amy, and I'm the coordinator of Dublin Maker, a free, family-friendly festival that celebrates the incredible diversity of Irish making. From robotics and 3D printing to woodturning, jewellery, crafts, and more, it’s a weekend full of creativity, curiosity, and community.
Now in its 13th year, Dublin Maker brings together inventors, hobbyists, educators, artists, and community groups in a warm, welcoming space where people can showcase what they’ve been working on—whether it’s polished or still very much a work-in-progress. More than just a showcase, the festival is really about the process of making and the magic of collaboration—how ideas take shape, how people learn from one another, and how creativity connects us across communities and cultures. This year's festival will be held on the 30th and 31st of August in Leopardstown Racecourse.
We have just opened our “Open Call for Makers” which you can find on our website or at the following link:
Dublin Maker Open Call For Makers
We'd really appreciate your help in getting the word out about the Open Call to individuals and groups in your network or with whom you are in contact, and encourage people who might have interesting projects to apply. I'm also very open to suggestions of groups and communities to contact about the Open Call and the festival.
To help with these requests, attached to this email are three documents. The first is a brief description of the event and the open call. The second is a poster with a QR code to the open call. The third document is a “Know Before You Apply” Guide, written in Plain English that explains how Dublin Maker and the Open Call works.
Any help would be greatly appreciated and I’m always happy to answer any questions and available to chat (either online, over the phone or in person!)
Thanks so much for reading,
