Hello,

We have a Cerner app that we've been using successfully for the last few months to allow patients to connect to various Cerner production instances and fetch their medical records.  We fetch various resource types, including DocumentReference and the corresponding Binary.

However, we've run into a handful of situations where we try to fetch the Binary resource from the DocumentReference and we get a 404 / "Resource not found" response.

Here are a few x-request-id headers for sample requests:
  • af85cb30-a323-4115-880c-f1636a252a0e+1942_AFYI
  • cdec89be-eca7-4b14-a3eb-c9d84b7d7ad9+9419_JmvC
  • 3629fff5-20ae-4cc6-9a9e-d6934b98783c+4663_k0sK
  • 743d86fc-34a1-44cd-893d-612d033f67d3+1448_gWG1
  • etc.
I noticed that a similar issue was reported a while ago, but it sounds like this affected the Cerner sanbox and that it was fixed:

I'd appreciate help to understand what's causing the 404's and whether there's anything I can do on our side to fetch these resources successfully.

Thanks,

--Shahaf

Echo your experience. We have similar problems with various binary endpoints.

I hope this type of problem can raise enough attention. Thanks

S,
Can you provide recent X-Request-Ids for this issue? This is generally seen because of some missing configuration for those document types.

Hi Aaron,

Here are a few examples from earlier this week:
  • "x-request-id":"c4d702a4-4e30-4d99-9b40-e57684563428+XcHt_6E2O"
  • "x-request-id":"24c84e19-f066-42c8-99d3-fd20f53fcd15+e1x5_wsUj"
  • "x-request-id":"59105796-02dc-41a3-b551-d2bd91b0c8d4+TeQZ_fF9p"

From the list of endpoints, this is Banner Health.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide on this.

Hi Arron,

It's been a few days so I'm checking in.  Were you able to use those x-request-id's?  Do you need any other info to help investigate?

Thanks,

One more thing to add -

We noticed that some of the resources we're trying to fetch, where we see 404's, have ID's that begin with "XR-".  As a test, we tried fetching the same resources with a modified ID where we drop the "XR-" prefix.  When we did this, instead of getting a 404, we get a 403 / forbidden / insufficient_scope.  I'm not sure if this is a useful clue in the investigation or if it's a red herring.  I should mention that the access_token we got from the customer includes the "patient/Binary.read" scope, and we were able to use this access token to get a different Binary resource which also has an "XR-" prefix.
