Scenarios where CDAP won't start any jobs

Hi CDAP gurus,

We need your advice. I have few questions.

1. What are the different scenarios where CDAP won't start any job and when we run manually from UI, it takes quite some time to start running the job? Does it check for YARN resources and hangs when they are not available?

2. We are having issues with CDAP master-slave architecture. When master is not available, secondary node is not becoming the primary. What are we missing? 

We are using CDAP 5.1.2 and we call CDAP APIs to start our jobs.

Hi,

1. CDAP doesn't check for YARN resources. When you say it won't start, what state did the program is in?

2. What does the logs say? Did the stand-by CDAP master detect the primary was gone?
