Hi All,

I’m looking for some stellar Pressbook examples that I can share with faculty to really show off the interactive potential of the platform.  Please share your institution’s best academic titles – a bonus if they are social work or sociology related.

Thanks in advance,

Jessica

Jessica,

Here are a couple of books for you:

This is a major adaptation involving taking content from two existing open books and adding new content. There are even some H5P activities in it - https://openpress.usask.ca/introductiontopsychology/

And we did an adaptation of the first year Sociology book - https://openpress.usask.ca/soc112/
Book Description: One part of a two-part introduction to the discipline of sociology, the study of society. It examines how we come to understand and experience ourselves and the world around us and how we create culture. Students will be introduced to the study of culture, socialization, social interaction, identity formation and self-fashioning, the social construction of class, gender and ...

Book Source. This book is a cloned version of Introduction to Psychology - 1st Canadian Edition by Charles Stangor and Jennifer Walinga, published using Pressbooks by BCcampus under a CC BY-NC-SA (Attribution NonCommercial ShareAlike) license. It may differ from the original.

Hi Jessica, here are some fun ones from Oregon's collection:

Body Physics: Motion to Metabolism - uses H5P, embedded media and simulations, etc
Technical Writing - this one started as a revise/remix; then four more authors from a different college added chapters to create the expanded edition
A Digital Workbook for Beginning ESOL - PCC's ESOL department has been making a lot of great books with media, H5P, etc, and this is one of them.

FYI,
Amy
