Hi all, this message is cross-posted.

Is anyone using a relational database to manage your OER program data? My information is currently spread across multiple spreadsheets and I'm looking for a better solution.

Thanks in advance - and I'll report back on what I learn.

Hi all,

So far I've heard from other people who are searching for a solution to a similar problem. I got one reply about using MySQL to build a custom database.

I'm experimenting with Airtable at the moment and getting stuck. Is anyone on these lists comfortable with Airtable, and have a couple of half-hours in the next few weeks to offer help?

Thanks everyone!

Amy

If someone does can I crash the party too? I recently was exposed to airtable and thought it would be a great resource to utlize in tracking. LOVE to have an expert guide.

Me too, I’d be interested in attending a webinar or something about using Airtable for OER tracking.

Hi all, I finally have a way to report back on this cross-posted listserv question :)

There will be a panel session at the upcoming OEN Summit on the topic of using relational databases to manage OER program data. I'll be joined by Abbey Elder (Iowa State University), Daisy Muralles (California State University East Bay), Sophie Rondeau (VIVA), Dave Ernst (OEN), and Tracy Mehoke (Brown Hope) to discuss three emerging solutions: the OEN’s Data Dashboard redesign, Open Oregon Educational Resources’s Airtable solution, and VIVA’s custom SQL database. Our panel is June 15, 9-10:30 Pacific.

More info and Summit registration (free): https://open.umn.edu/oen/summit/

FYI,
Amy
