I was planning on buying new dock lines for my boat but not sure what size.  I want to be able to pass the loop end through the bow cleat opening and then attach the loop to the horns.  Does anyone know the largest line size where the loop will pass through the cleat opening?  Thanks- Dave

I use 5/8” double braid and it fits snugly through the cleat opening. Once through the opening

the loop fits fine around the horns.

After a bunch of research I settled on 5/8" dock lines. The line, but not the sliced eye will fit through the clear center. To set up as you described, I had to run the plain end through. All this to say that 1/2" is the largest size where you can run the sliced eye through my 34+ cleats.

Because I started at a marina with a lot of surge, I am using 3/4” dock lines.  While I moved to a better marina, having found that the line ends barely (with effort and finesse) make it through the cleats, I’m sold.  AMarine on Amazon.
