Hello - I have seen some photos of boats with the cockpit floor and companion way floor covered in a "Seadek" like foam.

I am going to do it this spring.  Im looking for any suggestions/pointers.

thanks
Matt

Hi Matt

I have it installed on our boat. We love it when we are cruising and spending to in the cockpit for supper and games at night in our bare feet. My wife and I have suggested to others to stay away from light colours in the Holly areas as it shows dirt quickly. You must also be cautious while working around it. I put a piece of SS tubing down on it and bumped it and it left a small mark.
Having said that, we would install it on any boat we would own and recommend it.

Hi Matt,
I did my own cockpit, but I used a product that was priced less than $200.  It looked great for a few years, then the warm brown color turned black in blotches.  I redid it with another brand and I don't scrub it as hard as the first.  It looks good, but I expect this won't last more than five years.  The second application was easier to cut and stick down, because I kept templates from the first time and I had my method worked out.  The hardest part was removing the old adhesive.  The best solvent for that is 3M's General Purpose Adhesive Remover.

I wish I could buy sheets of better material, so let me know what you discover.

The feel on the feet is amazing and it made the boat look brand new.  I attached my "Lessons Learned" article.  I think ski boats use a similar product.
