Inquiry Regarding Availability of cBioPortal API Tokens

Hi cBioPortal Team,

I hope you’re doing well. I’m reaching out to confirm whether API tokens are currently being issued. The public token request page appears to be unavailable, and I want to verify if API key access is still supported for individual researchers or if it is now limited to institutional partners only.

Could you please clarify the current policy and whether there is a process for obtaining an API token?

Hi Ahsen,

Thanks for reaching out. API tokens are still supported on authorized cBioPortal instances. However, cbioportal.org is an unauthorized (public) portal, where all data and APIs are openly accessible. For this reason, we do not enable API access keys on cbioportal.org, and users should be able to freely use any available APIs without a token.
