Dear cBioportal,

I am in the process over revising a manuscript, where one of the reviewers ask:

By C-bioportal, are there HR-deficient tumors with germline or acquired mutations in the ZGRF1- or RAD54B genes and perhaps in the DUF domain?

To answer the question by the reviewer, I have followed the webinars on the cBioportal website, but I am still not entirely sure how to best answer the reviewer. Is there a way to identify HR (homologous recombination)-deficient tumors in cBioportal besides looking at co-occurance of mutations in ZGRF1- or RAD54B with mutations in known HR genes such as BRCA2?

Any help or advice would be much appreciated.

Kind regards,
Michael

Hi Michael,

Sorry for the late reply. HRD data is sparse in cBioPortal. One option is to look at patients with mutated HRD-associated genes, for example, in this link (https://bit.ly/4um1o1d).

We have some HRD data in the xenograph study: https://www.cbioportal.org/study/summary?id=pancan_pdmr_2025. Not certain if that's what you are looking for through.

Best,
-JJ
