Hello, my name is Gema Serrano. I am a researcher at the Hospital of Albacete in Spain.
I’m new to using cBioPortal, and I would like to ask a question about performing survival analysis.

Is it possible to compare survival between patients who show high expression of two or more specific genes simultaneously (for example, GeneA and GeneB) versus those who do not show high expression of both?

I would be very grateful for any help or suggestions on how to set this up within cBioPortal. Thank you in advance!

Gemma

Hi Gema,

One way to do this is via the study view. In the example below I started with the study view for the METABRIC cohort, then added two charts for the expression of two different genes via the Charts button, then selecting the gene specific option. You can then select the expression ranges for each gene to select you sample set of interest.

As a next step, you can save this selection as a group. After that, you would create your control group in the same way, saving that as another group. Once that is done, you can compare the two groups.

There are other ways to do this, but this might be the simplest one.

I hope this is helpful.

Niki.
