Hi all,
I'm looking for pictures of how your genoa halyard exits and optionally connects to your upper swivel when hoisted. On hull 17, there is no halyard Exit Lead block and I'm not sure whether there is room or not for one or not anyway, but it appears that Selden did supply these in the "kit" but maybe was not installed during commissioning.
Even though the swivel was greased well, I think excess tension may have damaged the swivel a bit and it doesn't work well under load. Works fine when not loaded. I verified that with the sail off by tying a 4' section of line between the genoa head swivel and tack attachment points, clipping on the halyard and putting some tension on the swivel, like you'd have under sail. The upper swivel would not turn very freely by hand, like the bearings or races were somewhat damaged.
Here are some genoa halyard exit pics from our boat.
If anyone else has pictures or can take a pic of how their genoa halyard exits showing a lead block or (no lead block), that would be helpful and on which hull number. I have a rigger that will be replacing our upper swivel (hopefully in my lifetime) to potentially fix that problem that's causing halyard wrapping during furling and unfurling. If others have this exit lead block installed, we'll probably have one added as well if it is possible in our situation.

I'm wondering if either the single or double version of this is needed:
