Prop puller

Hi everyone,

Wanted to know if some of you have tried the ACME prop puller 300SN (Shaft is 1 1/4-CR34) to remove your propellers with any success. Or if could recommend another brand.

I have tried a blind hole puller with no luck.

I’ve always had very good luck using a Walter #1 prop puller on the 3 blade fitted to my C/R 38.  Not sure that “C” type would work ?

I’ve used the Walter puller that Brian mentioned for years. It saved me the cost of two haul-outs, I was able to easily pull the prop underwater. If you’re doing any serious sailing I wouldn’t travel without one. Loosen up your shaft nut but don’t take it off, otherwise you may be looking for your prop on the ocean floor after the puller “pops” it loose.

Hi everyone,

Thank you for your help. I looked into the Walter and Acme pullers but unfortunately the space between the prop and hull on the shaft is too tight (7/16) according to both companies.

I will make Walter type puller using thinner steel plates. Hopefully, that will work out.
