Title- Google Cloud Engineer

Location- Memphis, TN (100% Remote)

Basic Qualifications

5+ years of cloud engineering- preferably some experience (1+ years in the GCP platform) Google Cloud (GCP) Ideally experience with BigQuery, GCS, and other GCP security features Security Protocols (IAM, authentication, etc.) • Data Governance: o Data Management Capabilities (DCAM) o Strong background in enterprise data management capabilities, policy, strategy, roles and responsibilities, technology and data management organizations Experience in implementing data management capabilities driven by best practice and business case Experience in assessing design and operating effectiveness of controls Knowledge and awareness of the regulatory landscape (i.e., BCBS 239)

Day to Day Responsibilities/typical day look like:

The Data Governance SME will partner directly with technology to ensure data management standards and best practices are adopted and lead the rollout of the data management toolset – will be helping to set up the building policies and structure for the engineers
May built out in a sandbox to show the platform engineers but they will be doing most of the engineering/coding
Ensure Data Policy updates and alignment
Data Usage Governance
Data Management Procedures and Trainings
Data Management Tool Stack and alignment
Data Management Culture
Permanent Controls and RCSA for Data Management
Data Domain Center of Excellence and Oversight
Drive usage of the Public Cloud
Improve Time to Market of data related initiatives
Vendor Relationships and contracts
Partner with Front Office / Back Office partners on Business Case opportunities
Develop requirements and success factors
Will get direction from InfoSec on security policies and then working to implement them within Google Cloud and built out the architecture/profile on how to best use the security features offered in Google etc.
Will be working to protect data assets, data storage/housing, and data security & access provisions, etc.
Looking for those with data-handling experience (okay if more of it was on prem in the past and then moved to cloud) in the security aspect
Will not being doing the engineering work or build out – will more be helping with security protocol build-out

What are the top must-have technologies/required experience for the position?

Google Cloud (GCP)
Ideally experience with BigQuery, GCS, other GCP security features

Education or Certification Requirements:

N2H Google or security related certifications but not required

Level of experience requirements:

2+ years of Google Cloud experience
8-10+ years IT experience (Senior-level in general data & security exposure)
