That cartoon is, of course, exactly correct. Both frames.

Quantum mechanics must account for observable reality.

Observable reality behaves in ways which are perceived to be "ridiculous."

The fix is not changing q.m. to conform it to our expectations;

the fix is changing our expectations to conform them to observable reality.
