Namaste all.
I have a question regarding shloka from Ramayana.
bAlakANDa 15:32
तदा देव ऋषि गन्धर्वाः स रुद्राः स अप्सरो गणाः |
स्तुतिभिः दिव्य रूपाभिः तुष्टुवुः मधुसूदनम् || १-१५-३२
Here, I want to know how old is the name madhusUdana?
- madhusUdana is Vishnu's name for killing asura named madhu
- It is normally used to refer to Krishna, and not Rama
- Ramayana is older than Mahabharata
- Balakanda and Uttarakanda of Ramayana are considered by many to be later addition to the original hero Story
So my question is:
1. Is Vishnu addressed as Madhusudan before the story of Krishna avatara developed?
2. Any chronology of Devi Mahatmya with respect to Valmiki Ramayan and Mahabharata?
Dhanyavada!
Thanks,
