TOKYO, Jan. 3, 2021 /PRNewswire/ — MagniLearn announced today that the company has signed a strategic agreement in Japan
with a large private school network. The network, AIC Education — with over 61 private after-schools (Jukus) and more than 12,000 students
— chose to implement MagniLearn’s localized solution to
facilitate extremely efficient and hyper-personalized learning for its
students.
AIC Education has already launched MagniLearn in seven schools and four of its locations: Kurashiki, Hiroshima, Fukuyama, and Okayama.
“Efficiency is the key to successfully acquiring a foreign language.
With built-in language awareness, our system discerns
which vocabulary
and grammar rules have not yet been completely understood by the
student. It identifies common errors,
provides recommendations, alerts teachers and builds the next lesson plan for that student’s needs,” said Lana Tockus, CEO of MagniLearn.
“MagniLearn arms our schools with a unique, data driven, real-time
personalized learning and insights system. These insights,
coupled with
the curriculum integration to our schools’ textbooks, enable us to
further empower our students to realize their full potential,
and
provide our teachers with the tools to maximize their role in-class.
This partnership with MagniLearn brings cutting-edge technology to our
schools,
allowing students to dramatically improve their English in a much shorter time frame,” said Mr. Kuwabara, President of AIC Education.
According to Tockus, the Natural Language Processing (NLP) and
Artificial Intelligence (AI) algorithms at the heart of MagniLearn
restore the ability
to teach one-on-one. The user’s experience is
extremely personalized and flexible, as each exercise is generated by an
NLP-engine in real-time
to maximize the user’s learning efficiency.
According to language learning experts, fluency in English involves
attaining an active vocabulary of about 8,000 words as well as
hundreds
of grammatical patterns. MagniLearn reports that students using its
system have demonstrated an ability to acquire these language skills
three times faster than by using traditional methods.
MagniLearn targets a variety of customers, such as K-12, higher
education institutions, book publishers, information service companies,
and EdTech corporations. For the Japanese market, MagniLearn has
integrated the national textbook’s curriculum to its existing product,
and included unique customized features tailored to Japanese schools,
teachers and students.
MagniLearn emerged from the groundbreaking work of scientists at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem in Natural Language Processing,
Neuroscience, Cognition and Education led by Professor Ari Rappoport.

Namaste
On < When will this happen to Sanskrit>- The way things are going on, not in ‘our life time, at least !
1. One thing for Sure that could happen, rapidly, is ‘AI-based SANSKRIT Teaching - a personalised coaching by Harvard- Oxford- Standards, for ‘Sanskrit Conversation’ (limited edition)’. These are not new. This model of digital solutions for multilingual users have been there ever since 1980’s . The innovation is the new language of explanation bringing in neuroscience and brain zonal images.
2. One thing for Sure that will NOT happen with the given current level and models of TECHNOLOGY is
‘AI-based PANINI SAMSKRUTHAM’ Teaching -Analytics - by ‘Muni-Traya’ Vedanga Vyakarana Standards’.
3. If current Sanskrit scholars get amusingly attracted with the power of current ‘A.I . Technology’ and expect it coming close to ‘ Natural Language Learning’ due to the ‘Science Visuals of brain- language – memory – neuro centers shown’, and hope to see ‘AI – algorithm based Sanskrit Natural Language Processing’
there need be no fear for at least next five decades. It does not mean rest and nice sleep. It is a clear sign that the warning note of technology speed to capture human heritage language is that close.
Current technology of neuro-sciences is still very very far from what it takes to ‘advance from ‘A.I (Artificial Intelligence of 20th century talk) to Artificial General Intelligence ( Talk of year 2021) where the gap between Industry model of learning- programming ‘silicon chip’ and Natures model of ‘brain chip’ to program –use language as ‘cognitive linguistics’ explained by Panini –Patanjali tradition would become clear. When the global corporate are digging deep in to Panini, the tradition-insiders are mesmerized by the ‘ projected indra-jaal / indras net of projected future’.
Anyway, still looking for a time when native techno-scholars of ‘Romanized models of studying Panini tradition’ would come to open discussion on Cognitive linguistic framework at the core of ‘Ashtadhyayi’ as ‘Vedanga Vyakarana’.

Namaste KSK
1. I agree with you on this. < Yes, both should happen.> . What can we do ‘together as a Home Team of Linguists and Techno-Linguists’ ?
2. Question/Expectation : Would it happen in our life time, with Panini Team lead? Deliver Panini-Computer ?
3. On < It is when you are able to "teach" something to the computer, the giant idiot, that you have the guarantee that you have clearly and fully understood the problem, and given the solution.
The ‘in-house question’ I have raised is the following: ‘One can teach only what one knows.
Have we a clear understanding of the model to teach the ‘Sacred language: Panini Samskrutham, the
Brahmi- Bharati’ in the framework as provided by Panini- Patanjali –Yaska :: The framework which covers the entire range of semantic web design and A.I - starting with ‘Word Generation (Vyakarana Sutra- Panini) – Validation (Patanjali –Bhashya)- semantic Extraction of semantic communication in a context sensitive way (Yaska – Nirukta – Adhivachi / Vak-yoga sampradaya) – in short called ‘ Muni-traya , vedanga paddhati’.
This is the road map and traditional answer to the question on ‘How to teach Samskrutham’ to Computer.
If the current Techno-Sanskrit-linguists approach is to design and use ‘Romanized representation of Brahmi Varna-Maalaa and adapt ‘English like language- semantic processing model’ on the given technology constraints from corporate, to ‘TEACH-PROCESS SANSKRIT FOR COMPUTER’, what could be the outcome ? Should we call it as ‘Sri Rama’ is same whether presented in the cultural dress code of India’ or the ‘Jeans and shorts’ of current west ? After all ‘computer god processes all languages same way using ‘numeric representation’ ??
4. On < AI technology may have much to receive from, and much to give as service to, Indian heritage.
Why not? No mesmerism; it is just a question of pragmatic mutual give-and-take - designed for mutual benefit. >. Sure. Technology accepted. But Panini- ‘ Sutra -giving’ should not end up in ‘Patanjali – Bhashya- surrender and slavery’ . The ‘Yaska’ would go completely haywire and lost !
Can we have an effort to keep Panini- Patanjali –Yaska aligned to ‘Vedanga sampradaya’ to serve Indian Brahmi Linguistic heritage in its native format pl?
‘Pangu-andha- nyaya model of cooperation is O.K. But not ‘ blind leading the blind’- the caution note from Katha 1-28- ‘.. andhenaiva nīyamānā yathāndhāḥ ..>
