In the Brahma sutra bhashya 2.3.43, Shankara has cited a passage as from the Atharva veda:

तथा ह्येके शाखिनो दाशकितवादिभावं ब्रह्मण आमनन्त्याथर्वणिका ब्रह्मसूक्ते — ‘ ब्रह्म दाशा ब्रह्म दासा ब्रह्मैवेमे कितवाः’ इत्यादिना ;

No editor has cited the source of the passage, as far as I could search.

Could anyone help locating the passage?

Thanks

I see this reference on one website:

I have not checked the text.

Thanks for the above line which sounds like the Sri Rudra Prashna of the Yajur Veda.  However, the passage Shankara cited, he says, is from Atharva veda, some shaakhaa.  In any case, the line you have cited is giving the same meaning as the one in question.

Namaste,

These words are from Athava Veda Paippalaada Samhitaa 8.9.11.

Please see the following links:

Sushil

Many many thanks for this rare find, Sri Sushil Sharma. I am able to see the entire 'brahma suktam' that Shankara has referred to:
