Sanskrit word for 'Fresh

My friend is looking for easy to pronounce word in Sanskrit for 'Fresh'. Kindly help with suggestions. It cannot be Nutana or Nava because they mean "new".

pratyagra is the word. See Kalidasa using the word in Meghadutam - sa pratyagraiH kutaja-kusumaiH' - with fresh flowers the Yaksha welcomed the cloud.

I believe nava and nutana can be used and have been used in the sense of fresh.

एते वयं पुनर्नवीकृता: स्म:!

or this shloka illustrating vibhaktis?

वृक्षस्तिष्ठति कानने कुसुमिता वृक्षं लता संश्रिता

वृक्षेणाभिहतो गजो निपतितो वृक्षाय देयं जलम्।

वृक्षादानय मञ्जरीम् अभिनवां वृक्षस्य शाखोन्नता

वृक्षे नीडम् इदं कृतं शकुनिना हे वृक्ष किं कम्पसे॥

Can others more well-read vidwans provide more examples?

Dear Prof Wakankar

I found this shloka in one of the set of books from a Sanskrit learning/teaching course material created by Prof Ashok Aklujkar who was then at Univ of British Columbia , Canada. The title of the course "Sanskrit - An Easy Introduction to an Enchanting Language". I had purchased these set of books and casettes  from him long ago (about 1998/99) when I had just begun learning Sanskrit.

Well, I am not a Sanskrit scholar, but almost all Sanskrit words (except for verbs) have entered Telugu with the same syntax.  So I make bold to cite this passage from a Tyagaraja krithi:

नव्य वन मालिकाभरण 

This suggests that nava, navya, nutana etc. can be used to mean "fresh."🙏

तरुणं सर्षपशाकं पिच्छिलानि च दधीनि। Dhvanyaloka has another alternate. But it may also mean not too much tender not too much hard. This sarshapashaka is tender.

Fresh=नव, नवीन, नूतन, नव्य, अभिनव, नूत्न, प्रत्यग्र, बाल, युव-, तरुण, सद्योजात, नवीकृत, नूतनीकृत, etc. depending on the context. 

I have written this shloka with all Vibhaktis of "गुरु":

गुरुः कृष्णो वन्दे गुरुमनुगृहीतोऽस्मि गुरुणा
नमस्तस्मै कुन्तीतनयगुरवे घोरसमरे।
गुरोर्नास्ति श्रेयान् क्वचिदपि गुरोरस्म्यनुचरो
गुरौ चित्तं मे स्यात् त्रिभुवनगुरो मामव हरे॥29

Generally  the ‘सप्तविभक्तिक श्लोक - seven vibhakti’ slokas are given in masculine with a common acceptable word.

In the instance below, I have made an effort to provide a ‘ feminine gender’ composition. I seek the favor of review from learned audience. [ The panchami and Shasti common form is explainable from the same ‘paada’ in the verse].

माला मल्लिक-चम्पकैर्विरचिता, मालां विपण्यां जनाः

सम्पन्नं ननु मालया सुवसनैः पूजा सुदेवस्य मे ।

मालायै कुसुमानि सभ्रमरकान्यानीयतां यत्नतः ।

मालायाःखलु पुण्यता, सुरवरैः संकीर्तिता गीतिषु ॥

मालायां कृमिकीट-केश सदृशाः दोषाः निवार्याः बुधैः

माले त्वं हि रमालये,सुरजनाह्लादाय मान्यालये ॥

There is one सप्तविभक्तिक shloka in praise Goddess Lakshmi.

लक्ष्मीः श्रीकरवीरवासनिरता मां पातु लक्ष्मीं भजे,लक्ष्म्या व्याप्तमिदं चराचरजगत् तस्यै च लक्ष्म्यै नमः। लक्ष्म्याः शंभुमुखाः समभवन् दासो' स्मि लक्ष्म्या अहं,लक्ष्म्यां स्वांतलयो'निशं भवतु मे भो लक्ष्मि मां पालय।।

Your verse is also very good.

Am collecting such saptavibhaktika shlokas as they are interesting and speak of the fervour of a poet for a deity or any object like your maalaa.

I expect that Prof. Aklujkar may have already supplied full references, but in case he has not yet done so, I venture to mention one source of this old verse. It is found in the Rūpāvatāra of Dharmakīrti; see the attached PDF.
