Many thanks, Ajitji, for the information and the clarification - I am grateful. M. Witzel had told me to look up T. Mahadevan's article in HOS Opera Minora 9 - I believe he was referring to this Vedic Sakhas volume, but yes, it is different from the opera maiora series. I will try to find the individual articles on Academia.edu.

He didn't give me a title. I had asked Prof Witzel a question about the migration of the Taittiriyas to the south and in what century this may have occurred historically. He gave me an estimate and asked me to look up Mahadevan's article in HOS Op Min 9. So, I'm guessing it was the paper on the Kausitaki school, maybe there are some details in it he wanted me to look at. (I found the ToC on Academia, and there are quite a few other papers I wanted to read too, so I was looking for the entire volume's PDF.)

But for now, this one: The Kauṣītaki school of the Rgveda: A Veda caraṇa without a saṁhitā – Thennilapuram Mahadevan. I would be grateful if you can share it. :)

Dear Ajit Ji,

     Thanks for sharing this article.  The title reminds me of the Vedic affiliation of my own family.  We used to say: आश्वलायनसूत्र-शाकलशाखाधयायी.  So our Sūtra was the Āśvalāyanasūtra, but our Vedic Saṃhitā was the Śākala Saṃhitā.  The Āśvalāyana-Saṃhitā of the R̥gveda was until recently considered to be lost, and was found in a few villages in North India and recently published.  So, I assume that by following the Āśvalāyana-Sūtra and having the Śākala-Saṃhitā, my ancestors were making some sort of accommodation.  There was no Āśvalāyana-Saṃhitā available, and there was no Śākala-Sūtra available.  So these two were traditionally put together to make a functional connection.

Probably due to this reason in the pravara  I was thought and  which I recite there is no distinction of which shakaha of rig Veda we learnt in the past

Chatussagara Paryantam Go Brahmanebhyah Shubham Bhavatu ,Angirasa, Bharhaspatya, Bhardavaja Traya rishayaha Pravaranvita 

Bhardavaja Gotrah, Ashwalayana Sutrah, Rikshakha Adhyayi Sri.... Aham Bho Abhivadaye

Here there is no distinction of which shakaha of rig Veda we learn

Do rigvedins of different shakhas use different mantras in their rituals and ceremonies leaving very minor differences in the procedures that's followed in different regions. The  shkha differences are long forgotten and for all practical purposes there in only one rigveda
