No notification to group managers for new subscription requests

From September, 2020 onwards, group managers are not getting notifications of new subscription requests. 

Thousands of subscription requests were not responded to by us , because of that. 

The question is sent by the managers of several groups to google groups help center here :

There is no help provided. 

If any of you know the solution, please share it here.

One stop-gap solution could be to disallow sending joining request temporarily. 

Then, in the Description, just below askjoin button (which will not display once you have disabled it), just in the first line enter your email ID that will take the requests and manually add the new person to the google group.

Something Like:

Description

To JOIN GROUP: 

Email: bvpmana...@gmail.com

We will revert back in 3 days time.
