नमो विद्वद्भ्यः
I am trying to learn more about the jnAna-karma-samuccaya vada tradition.
I am taking the BhagavadGita as the starting point, and am also choosing to bring in the Yoga path as a running parallel (based on my personal predilection).
1. As a preliminary, we have Sri Adi Sankaracharya as the principal expounder of the counter-jnAna-karma-samuccaya vada point of view. His commentaries on the Gita and the BrahmasUtras furnish us with the central conclusions of his position. Sri Ramanujacharya and perhaps others in his wake have also addressed this point. Further, the bhedAbheda POV has important things to say on jnAna-karma-samuccaya. Could you recommend any resources to further explore the treatment of jnAna-karma-samuccaya vada in these areas, perhaps in a summary form?
2. Are there any full, specific treatments of the jnAna-karma-samuccaya vada position in Indian thought?
3. Based on my limited study, I have found out about a commentary on the BhagavadGita by Anandavardhana named Anandavardhini, whose Sanskrit text has been brought to light by Sri S K Belvalkar. Is there any English translation of this work available? Or an English summary, other than the Belvalkar one?
4. Are there any other commentaries on the BhagavadGita that explore the jnAna-karma-samuccaya POV?
5. The Yoga Yajnavalkya provides the jnAna-karma-samuccaya view in the Yoga path. Are there any other yoga texts which treat of jnAna-karma-samuccaya?
6. Is there any exposition on jnAna-karma-samuccaya by Vijnanabhikshu?
I would very much appreciate any guidance or inputs you would care to provide in this matter.
with thanks and kind regards
Harsha
