Machine translation is a computational mechanism to convert text or speech from one natural language into another. “When you translate between any two languages, you have to first go to a common format. The whole point here is to be the most precise. And, it is a feature of the Sanskrit language that it is very precise and accurate,” Zoho co-founder and chief executive officer Sridhar Vembu said earlier this week at the company’s annual technology conference.

Namaste

Nice to see a Unicorn Techno-entrepreneur looking at ‘ Panini-Heritage Techno-linguistic Model’ to solve a 21st  century Digital Challenge of ‘MT’ / A.I. for ‘Atma-Nirbharataa’.

Request for a clarification in this context:

Can I be please helped with study-resources providing  ‘Sanskrit language- Common format  features’ that help to ‘CONVERT – TRANSLATE’

               (a)    Linguistic Logic of Natural Languages  from < Source and Target>  -  in  < Text –Speech>  diversity ?

                (b)   Any Techno-Linguistic Programming Platform for NATURAL LANGUAGES, as of 2022 – with power to  process stated features ?

[ Note: I am aware of the features from Python like Programming Languages, Eclipse, and works that are connected with approaches by Tech –Giants  for similar goals : One example being   Facebook research at Interspeech 2020 - https://ai.facebook.com/blog/facebook-research-at-interspeech-2020/ . The limitation in all these cases is dependence on ‘Romanized / IPA representation of Text and Speech of Natural Languages’ and  ‘ wide spread use of If – then- go to -  logical spread sheet processor solutions.

Stated otherwise, I am looking for what is Zoho’s  ‘Sanskrit studies -resources’ which elevate ‘CHARACTER SET HANDLING TECHNO-DIGITAL MECHANISM (=  Aksara- yaantrika - prakriyaa) ’ to become ‘ LANGUAGE- < CONVERT-TRANSLATE> TECHNO-LINGUISTIC MECHANISM’ (= anuvaada / samvaada - Bhashaa –yaantrika –tarka- prakriyaa ?) ?

Regards

This vaartaa doesn't seem to have much standing.

The most interesting comment being - "Ex employee here, the team took some linguistic and grammar inspiration apparently from Sanskrit . But no it’s not deeper than that, Sridhar seems to just keep drumming this tone to please those in power" (https://www.reddit.com/r/india/comments/ytvga8/comment/iwazjq8/?utm_source=reddit&utm_medium=web2x&context=3)

Looking at the moneycontrol article itself -

“When you translate between any two languages, you have to first go to a common format. The whole point here is to be the most precise. And, it is a feature of the Sanskrit language that it is very precise and accurate,” Zoho co-founder and chief executive officer Sridhar Vembu said earlier this week at the company’s annual technology conference.

“This seems to have been known. It is not a new discovery, but no one seems to have used it well in software. And we are going to launch products using this technology… A lot of time in the technology industry, an idea that was promising was forgotten and abandoned.”

These words - "We are going to launch products using this technology" - betrays the vacuousness of these claims - Where is the technology? What technology is being referred to?

Of course if Zoho has 120 repo on github and not 1 related to language technologies. Of course it might be private for now. But looking at the above vague statements, the ambiguity of the whole endeavour becomes clear.
