Hello

On Ubuntu I have activated the RDP Connection via the settings. I had to give a connection password. Usually, you connect to Ubuntu via RDP giving the connection user and password. After that the login screen for the user login appears.

Might this cause the error below? I bought aRDP just a moment ago because it states to be capable to connect to linux systems and I did not find any issues around GNOME Wayland in this forum. Is this supported?

Getting this error:

Initializing Remote Session instance: 29
Ensuring buttons are initialized, and positioning them where they should be
initAndShowOrHideKeyboardButtonDueToExternalKeyboard() Creating keyboard button
initializeKeyboardButtonIfNotInitialized() Keyboard button already initialized
showOrHideKeyboardButtonDueToExternalKeyboard() Checking GCKeyboard.coalesced: nil
showOrHideKeyboardButtonDueToExternalKeyboard() Showing keyboard button because external keyboard was not found
Connecting RDP Session to 192.168.253.92:3389 or file
RDP Session width: 1280, height: 768
ERRINFO_SUCCESS

Could not connect to remote server

Rdp connection failure
Session shows it is connected, so this is an unexpected disconnection
Lazy disconnecting
Connection failure, showing error with title RDP_CONNECTION_FAILURE_TITLE.
Scheduling disconnect
Lazy disconnecting
disconnect(sender:) called
disconnect() called
Hiding keyboard.

If it is not supported, please refund (we can exchange the details seperately). I will not install xrdp as I am completely happy with the Ubuntu standard GNOME Wayland RDP when I use it in other scenarios.

Hi Philipp,

Thanks for reaching out. I am using it successfully to connect to Ubuntu 24.04 and 24.10. In addition, I have users who confirmed through reviews and contacting support they are using it to connect to Ubuntu and Kubuntu successfully.

I wonder if this is a new issue that has cropped up with 25.10. I'd need to test and see if I can reproduce it.

If you would like to get a refund, the process is here:

I can also invite you to the Beta to test future versions.

Sincerely and thanks for your report!

Thanks for confirming that disabling the option to request resolution updates helps!

Consider giving the app 5-stars to let other people know you are happy with it.

Hello Iordan,

It is working now.

I had to disable Request Remote Resolution Updates as mentioned by you.

Thanks.

Best Regards,

Philipp
