Learn Geography from Map

Respected Neha Dhanwani Maam,

I Shrenik Munot from Pune Institute Of Computer Technology College(PICT),Pune. I am currently pursuing my Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology. I m intrested in Andoid Application Development

As from childhood(around year 2000) till now ,I had experienced lots of changes in the education system.When I was in school before 10th class ,Because we were needed to read books as there were no interactive things like videos and tutorials .So I  use to get sleepy and bored doing  studies. So I decided  to start implementing my ideas using  android application development (In which I got my interest ). Reason to start developing apps is that those student like me don't have to face problems . I would like to support this guys for their  career development. I am interested in working on  the app " Learn From Map". I would like Share my ideas with you in developing Android Application on "Learn Geography".

Geography  ,It is the field of science dedicated to the study of the lands, the features, the inhabitants, phenomena of Earth.Its also a study of Places and Region,man-land relationship,research in the earth sciences,plants and animals, climate , soil, water, landforms,.

 My ideas are : 

1.We can have games on names :

Names can be of  continent, country, cities, oceans,boundaries of countries, coastlines, rivers origins,crops present in a particular country-states,weather names,country leading least pollution,hight populated cities,population ,etc.

2.Guess the picture display below.

In this we can put maps without names and tell user to guess the name of the country,continent,oceans,etc. Visualising things make it easier to remember the things.

3.We can show compass to check which direction they are standing in .

4.We can have game of Asking questions as per user selects country, continent,any particular thing. and answer to that question.

In that we have to fix the question template and data in table format so that's easy to retrieve data.

5.We can have game of colouring the continent,or place or flags of particular  country shapes/pictures. 

6.We can also have game like cross word with list of cities in a particular country,continent. find the words in group of letters related to continent or country,states, etc.

7.If user not intrested in playing games, then they can have choice of select a country or continent and have full information related to it like soil found,crops,etc found just to read it. 

8.We can supply them map and tell them to mark where the black soil found, clay soil found, wheat, rice, bajra found, animal sanctuaries, bird santuaries also mark where types of rocks found,etc.  Also find out country, continents, hills, particular landforms etc.

9. We should have help center in which user is allow user to ask questions and find out the answers .

If they want to quick search about any ddetails,they should have facility.

10.We can also have facility  of voice recognition,text to speech feature. 

App should be developed for every kind of student let it be handicapped or a good fit student. Those student who are handicapped/have some disability should also able to use our application. so text-to-speech and voice recognisation will help these student to study geography.

 

My Qualification:

 As this year is said to be 900 Anniversary of Bhaskaracharya,So had objective of spreading knowledge about bhaskara's theorem,techniques he used and many more things. So I  Developed a Android Application on Bhaskaracharya,The Great Mathematician : Informative  App. I am very much interested in developing Android application for people.

Thanks for showing interest in BuildmLearn. 

As Avnee has already mentioned we are looking for a map based approach to teach geography. 

Have you worked on Maps in android before? If so please share links of your works.

Also the ideas you mentioned seem good(many already being proposed), but more interested in knowing the approach you are looking to follow.

           I am beginner in Android Developer. I Don't have any completed project on/using maps,but just for testing on android phones/trying something to do new i had used maps for moving and trying to pin a particular location.

           I am thinking of making use of maps for all things like when they travel at a place which animal,bird sanctuaries are present at that place,at what longitude and latitude they are at, they should have total details of whatever place they are at.there should be total and daily use of app like whatsapp.
