My 20+ year old Mercury 9.9 outboard is on its last legs and its time to bite the bullet and find a replacement. I’m thinking I need a 9.9 4 stroke engine (but am open to any better alternatives). It needs to be able to fit in the outboard motor well. And since I lift it out of the water when not sailing to eliminate problems with marine growth, O don’t want it much heavier that the my current 82 pound engine.
Any opinions about the best options?
