Hi, Anne, do you know where it's from?
Looking at my Proteaceae book, I found Cardwellia sublimis from NQ, which has an ovoid woody follicle about 15 cm long;
and Grevillea heliosperma from the Top End NT, with a spherical woody fruit more than 20mm in diameter.
Cheers, Prue

Yes, G. glauca has "large, spherical and woody [fruits] about 35mm in diameter, and opening to an angle of 30 deg.on maturity". From Cape York.

Hi Jan and Prue,

Thanks. Grevillea glauca looks like the one.

The photo I posted was all I had. The pods were being used as window decoration in a trendy shop near the Brisbane Exbihition Ground.

Cheers, Anne
