Hi,
I am using Brick schema to model a chiller system, as shown in the figure below. I have encountered some challenges when trying to model the complex topology of the system. For example, I am not sure how to model the pressure sensor points in the system.

I have already created entities for the chiller, cooling tower, and pump using the brick:Chiller, brick:Cooling_Tower, and brick:Condenser_Water_Pump classes, respectively.

However, I am not sure how to properly put the pressure sensor points in the system.  Can anyone provide guidance on how to model pressure sensor points  and the temperature sensor (circled in red line) in such a system using Brick schema?

Thank you in advance for your help!

Hi there!

Depending on the direction of flow in your diagram, you will want to reach for the entering/leaving water temperature/flow sensor classes (e.g. https://brickschema.org/ontology/1.3/classes/Entering_Chilled_Water_Temperature_Sensor for documentation: https://brickschema.org/schema/Brick#Entering_Chilled_Water_Temperature_Sensor for the class). You can associate these points with the equipment that the water is entering/leaving. Does that help?

For the pressure sensors it should be the same deal, but I don’t think we have the entering/leaving chilled water pressure sensor classes in Brick at this time. Would you be able to file an issue on our GitHub  (https://github.com/BrickSchema/Brick) with the classes you need added?

Hope that is useful! Feel free to email me your Brick model and I can make some edits to point you in the right direction if you’d like

Best,

Gabe
