It's no fun if we don't trade excessive amounts of draft capital to draft Willis. To just get him with a "set" draft pick...It's all about the drama.

Although at this point drafting Willis might be really good value in its own right so maybe it wouldn't be the worst idea in the world?

Damn, Patrick, sorry you got left out to dry last night. I had been up since 2am, so I was very done by 9pm. I'll try to hang with you better tonight, but I've been up since 4am. I can't sleep, dammit.

No worries, I was able to hold it down pretty good. Got to play pin the tail on Cal McNair, went bobbing for prospects. It was a nice evening all in all.

Besides, once the Texans finished picking it pretty much died off everywhere. I'm sorry you're having so much trouble sleeping though, that sounds miserable.

We still need volunteers to handle the initial reaction post for pick 37 and the deep dive on 37 and someone to put together the thread for day two. Can I get some volunteers?

I don't get how this means this group is either good or deep:
image.png
Stingley is a rookie who hasn't played much the past couple of years. Nelson is 29 and hasn't been good in a couple of years. King was terrible last year and is 28 to boot. Thomas is fine-ish but not a star, and LJJ is one of the worst players in the NFL.

Am I missing something?

Desmond King was awful last year and bad in the slot and that’s Tavierre Thomas’s job now. I wonder if this is the end of Lonnie Johnson season? I hope Max Scharping gets cut with the Green pick.

What you're missing, Geoff, is that it's April and therefore every team has improved, but especially my favorite team.

This is soooo shades of Clowney...

April 6, 2022 — Stingley participates in LSU's pro day. In addition to going through defensive back drills, he registers a 4.37 40-yard dash, a 38 1/2-inch vertical leap and a 10-2 broad jump.

March 6, 2022 — Stingley declines to compete in defensive back drills at NFL Combine. He wants to be at 100 percent for LSU's pro day.

Jan. 6, 2022 — Stingley officially declares for the 2022 NFL Draft.

Sept. 26, 2021 — Stingley aggravates his foot sprain in the week leading up to the Mississippi State game (later discovered to be a Lisfranc injury). He undergoes surgery, ending his season and career at LSU after having played in just 10 games since his standout freshman season. He is given a recovery timeline of four to six months.

2021 preseason — Stingley sprains his foot. He plays through the "painful" injury in the first three games.

Dec. 5, 2020 — Stingley suffers another sprained ankle against Alabama. The lingering effects of the injury cause him to miss the final two games of the season, vs. Florida and Ole Miss.

Nov. 21, 2020 — Stingley appears to hit his head at the end of a punt midway through the third quarter vs. Arkansas, causing him to miss the remainder of the game.

Oct. 10, 2020 — Stingley injures his ankle in a "freak accident" vs. Missouri. He is able to play through the injury but is not at 100 percent.

Sept. 26, 2020 — Stingley is forced to miss the season opener vs. Mississippi State. Per an official LSU statement, he became "acutely ill" the night prior and was hospitalized.

We still don't have someone to do the 37th pick posts, can someone take those up? I've still got work for just over an hour and I'm not sure I'll be available in case they pick in the first half hour of the draft.

Somehow, they still have five picks!

two in the fourth, one in the fifth, and two in the sixth.

Fourth round, 107th overall

Fifth round, 166th overall

Fifth round, 170th overall

Sixth round, 205th overall

Sixth round, 207th overall

Completely infallible performance by Caserio, obviously.

Honestly though, decent draft. We'll see what UDFAs get picked up.

I guess I'm at the point in my life where I realize how little we feel about a team's draft means something two or three years later when the real results start coming in. But, you can't be measured AT ALL on Twitter as it's a contest to be completely over the top in praising Caserio...who hasn't really accomplished much unless you count basic cap management and making Cal slightly more rich.

Great job, Patrick. Sorry I couldn't join more, but between the FIL and all the other project and work and strife at home and abroad, I didn't have much I could offer this round.

The KCNA approves of those headlines…

I fully expect that if we do not project the Texans to be a legitimate playoff threat after this draft, there will be calls for a cyber, if not actual, lynching.

Sorry about the lack of SNT threads lately. My life is such a clusterfuck right now: M-F work 14 hours a day, Sa and Su work in the yard until dark, then work the day job. Just trying to get projects closed, and my FIL is still a problem on the family.
