Put me down for Fridays for Fan Service.

If nobody's going to read my novella then at least I can occupy one of the least obtrusive time slots.

As an addendum for my piece. Just some interesting data that I just looked up. Looking at the teams with 11 or more regular season wins and the teams with seven or fewer victories. The bad teams had a collective winning percentage of .420 in games decided by seven or fewer points. That's not good, but not nearly as bad as you might think. It would be equivalent to a 7-10 season. The good teams sported a .600 winning percentage in those games. That's a 10-7 season. However, in games decided by ten or more points that balloons up to a .792 winning percentage for the good guys (13-4) and a .234 winning percentage for the bad guys (4-13).

I find this interesting because you always hear about how good teams consistently win the close ones. They just "know how to win." Yet, the data doesn't really bare that out in the aggregate. What is born out is the fact that good teams beat their competition to a bloody pulp and the bad teams get beaten to a bloody pulp.

Matt, I’m not going to be able to write Fan Service this week. I’m in New Orleans with only my work computer and it won’t let me access the blog to write.

I thought I’d be able to use it but I was apparently mistaken.

And thanks for reading, I appreciate that a lot.

Good post Scott. As I'm sure you hoped, it was hard not to draw the parallel between your "public/private face" comment and the "masquerading as an Exec VP" one. Expanding on that might be a solid sequel to this post.

Thanks, I'll definitely consider it. The thing is finding a balance between deeper analysis and kicking a dead horse. I think 95 percent of the fanbase knows what Easterby is and that he is at the center of our issues. They also know he isn't going anywhere and complaining about it is likely a waste of time. So, diving into that cess pool just might turn readers off. So, I'll have to think about it some more unless anyone has any suggestions.

I wouldn't worry so much about what you think readers may/may not want, and more about what you want to write. If that topic doesn't interest you, then don't bother. If it does, dive in.
