Dear Crust Family,

Saudações! I hope all are well (or, at our age, well enough :-)).

Sister Oakes is interested in having the following:

1) A Zoom meeting for our October Reunion, Thursday, Sept. 28, 2023
2) A Facebook page for our mission
3) An in-person reunion on Thursday, April 4, 2024

As you may know, I have retired and moved to Illinois. I also no longer have a Zoom account that can support meetings over 45 minutes. Sister Oakes asked me to send this email to ask if some of you can volunteer to bring to pass the above 3 items (so that we may someday say, "And it came to pass...").

Could someone with a paid Zoom account please volunteer to host an October Zoom meeting?

Also, I have not been on Facebook since 2019 (12 years was enough for me :-). Could someone with a Facebook account and with the know-how to do a group page volunteer to do that? Sister Oakes has more details on what she would like to see (starting with a picture of O Redentor de Corcovado). The website I did years ago is up but websites are so last month, and folks don't go there anymore, which is fine.

I have a Zoom account and am willing to host the October reunion. The Facebook page I’ll leave for someone else (by the way, compared to TwiXXter, Facebook is (almost) heaven).

I have no idea about that. Is there no way to have them request access and get approved? It used to work that way. Anyway, I am of no help on that. Have you spoken with Sister Oakes?

Maybe I can provide a QR code that will lead them to the site and they can sign themselves in.   I am busy for the remainder of the day, but let me see if we can't do it that way, otherwise it could take a lot of time to enter persons.    :)

 I do have a paid zoom account that will go longer than 45 minutes. Someone let me know if I will set it up or if someone else has taken charge of this detail.

I volunteered my Zoom account, but I’ve run into some construction issues, so if you want to handle the Zoom meeting, please feel free to take over.

Sister Oakes’ posterity is descending upon her Thursday and since there are signs that only a small number of folks have shown interest, she has asked that we pass on having a virtual get-together right now. 

She would, however like us to look forward to getting together next April in person. Being realistic she knows that the opportunities for such meetings may not be available to her far into the future. She would like as many people as possible to plan to attend. 

If someone in the Salt Lake area could check with their meetinghouse for a meeting the Thursday before April conference, that would be great. In addition, she would appreciate it if the streaming system in place since COVID could be used for those who can’t travel to attend.

Please give this some consideration. Many thanks.
