Hey guys, have you tapped into any other methods in combination with, or other than chess and QnB? Also, what do you guys think is the optimal amount of training per day/per week? Have you noticed any training dose limits/diminishing returns in terms of daily times, or training without breaks or after doing the same n-back regime for a certain amount of months? In other words, I'm looking for how you guys have optimized n-back for yourselves.
Is anyone taking any kind of peptide, drug or herb to speed up dual-n-back or quad-n-back training gains?
I've had little gains with DnB in the past. I saw an improvement in scores, but I chalked it up to training strategies in the past. On two occasions, I only trained for around 3 month intervals though. I'd say perhaps this may reflect one's baseline performance. While I have a moderate, but not huge IQ of roughly 125, I would be considered a very low performer by any working memory metric (in my case mostly labeled as ADD/ADHD inattentive). I was only putting in 20-30 minutes a day. I was using manual mode and would go between 4 and 5 DnB depending to give you an idea. Recently, I've started quad-n-back again.
I've been doing thorough research on cognitive and performance enhancement for at least a year now, sometimes as much as 14 hours a day. I have a detailed journal that taps into neuroscience and has been pulling evidence from many scientific articles and recent studies. There is an overwhelming amount of things I have looked into. Basically, it is very complex and the fields pertaining to cognitive enhancement seem very decentralized and originate with disorders and impaired patients. Also, many studies seemingly contradict each other because of unforeseen variables which makes sorting through the web of data time consuming. My curiosity has additionally led me to find the raw data from my genes and look up corresponding articles for polymorphisms. Surely enough I pinpointed the key differences on a molecular level between my genes and high performers for working memory and it has given me some new direction. (I recommend looking up your raw genes tio anyone who has the time/money/curiosity).
Other relative areas I have researched and experimented with are tDCS, tACS, supplements/herbs, meditation, exercise, other brain training exercises, temporal training and I am open to other methods.
I would love to further discuss or exchange knowledge/scientific sources/etc. on topics related to working memory and cognitive enhancement.
Does anyone with experience or interest in these subjects have Discord? I feel that using a medium such as Discord would be a quicker way to communicate between parties who are interested in doing so. It seems to be the go-to place for elite subsets of other online communities.
