Hi Chris,
Although we sell new equipment, I am frankly passionate about recycling.
For a while we had a major company claiming that an embosser without a USB port would not work with Windows 10.
This is complete and utter B S.
If the embosser is basically working, it can invariably work with a Serial or Parallel to USB converter cable. Hope you are sitting down.
The exorbitant cost of these cables is £15 each – yes, that is fifteen Pounds.
We have many who even have the very old red or blue bar single sided embossers, well over 20 years old, working with Windows 10.
There is one possible issue. You may have been given the embosser, but were you given the software? If you were, there may be a cost to upgrade, but talk to us first.

A friend who doesn’t have the internet has had since she was in employment in the 1990s a Braille embosser which her employers gave her for keeps when she retired due to poor health some years ago. She’s looking to see if it can be re-purposed rather than destroyed. She tells me it was purchased from Concept Services - and I can’t remember who they’ve moved on to become. She knows it was compatible with Win 7, and as I can’t easily get to where this bit of kit is, and it’s very heavy, she’s going to ask someone to look at the machine for its name etc.
So the question is, who did the seller become and how likely would it be that it could be upgraded so it could repurposed.
