Hello Boxsters,
Monday has found us again and that means a new free Download for the boxart faithful.
This weeks FD is something new for you.
The FD is the 1983 boxart that was featured on the Imai kit from the Japanese Macross franchise.
There are a bunch of kits from this series and this one is the Variable Type VF-1S Valkyrie.
It looks a lot like an F-14 Tomcat, but has some extra capabilities.
The Macross story is begins with the crash of an alien spacecraft in South Africa in 1999.
The crash is reverse-engineered into a new space ship and just as it is being powered up for the first time another space race detects it.
The original creators were from an enemy species and they attack.
The story unfolds with the war between us and this new alien race.
The kits are amazing feats of engineering and can transform into all the various configurations of the original craft.
I found a handful of images from the Macross universe for your enjoyment.

All those Macross vehicles are simply amazing.
'Macross Plus' is a favorite Anime of mine.
