Gauging interest in, you know, Lunchtime Ultimate

I (and my sagging belly, weakening legs) would love to get things back to normal, and see weekday lunchtime Ultimate start happening again. Used to be Tue/Thu, 12-1:45ish.

What days would you play? You can email a response here, or use this Doodle poll to pick days of the week. (Ignore the fact that Doodle makes me pick exact days.) A "yes" does not commit you to come, but does mean that ~60% of the time on that day you'd come out. A "maybe" means that you'd come out maybe 25% of the time.

I'm hoping there will be enough people saying "hell yeah" to some of these days that we can just start calling game on...and once we've established a rhythm again, no game on call is even needed (until the weather starts making the softies stay at work and slurp their soup).

Is this a GGM Blue Tuesday and Thursday or are you trying to revive the old open pick up (since there has been talk about that).

I'd love to bring that back too.

So far, Tue/Thu looking best, but not yet quite good enough for auto game on.

Barring a lot more interest shown, we will need to play a couple weeks and get a feel for how many lurkers show up before I'd feel good about full-auto mode.

By the numbers (let's see if Google Groups will preserve formatting here):

Those 12s look good (COVID has taught me that any thing over 4v4 is gravy) but remember that not everyone will show all the time. (Stu is in those numbers, for example, but not for another 2 weeks.) If we guess that "likely" means 70% of the time, and "rarely" means 25% of the time, then we would only expect to see about 9 people on Tue/Thu. Change those to 80%/30% and we're over 10; at 60%/20% we get fewer than 8. We're right on the fence, based on responses right now.

Let's aim for next Tuesday 12p as a weekday game. I'll create a separate thread to get a feel for numbers, call game-on if we get 8 confirmed, and then find out how many extra fair-weather lurkers show up. :)

A few more responses came in giving Thursday a slight edge for the future. (Numbers below.)

The weather will be great both days, slightly nicer tomorrow. So, one more poll for this week's game on call.

Will you play: only Tuesday? only Thursday? Either day? Both days?

Oh, and overall poll results for days of the week in general:

Thus, random statistics suggest that we're very likely to see 9-10 of these poll respondents on Tuesdays, and 10-11 on Thursdays. If this week shows good turnout, that feels solid enough to call automatic game on for Thursdays.
