Error SMTP sending report

Hi all,

I'm testing sending error reports, but whatever configuration I try I get this error: 

Error in sending error report: Connection unexpectedly closed: timed out

where can I read the detail of the error? 

I've already enabled smtp debugging but can't figure out where to read.

I'm working on Ubuntu, open port 465 587.

this error email works via django.

thoe only way to get soemithing of errors is to use django source code, I am afraid.
