Summer BAWCA Meeting

Hi folks!

I hope everyone's semester finished up without too much fuss. I just wanted to reach out and encourage you to save the date for our summer BAWCA meeting:

Hospitality in the Writing Center

Tuesday, July 15

2:00pm - 4:00pm

Suffolk University

We'll send send directions as we get closer, but I hope you'll be able to join us. I've attached and article that might provide a useful springboard into our conversation. We look forward to discussing how, as the article's author, Edward English, puts it "hospitality--as a disposition--might bring about more positive, generative and encouraging outcomes in writing center work." We can also use this opportunity to consider "what responsible and ethical use of power and authority might look like...particularly when [tutors work] outside their disciplines and with multilingual students."
