Dear Ladies,

 

What's App, Facebook  had that massive connectivity issue this morning so I thought I should send out an email.


November is my turn for the book club. So instead of picking a book I would like to spark a lively debate around famous people. I love lists—the 10 best or the 10 worst when I have to buy an appliance. So a week ago when I picked up a copy of TIME Magazine (Sept. 27th issue) with its list of the 100 most influential people for 2021 I thought why not learn more about some of these individuals who have made a difference or may have generated controversy.

 

To keep it simple I suggest we each pick one of the people listed, read the one page description and then do some basic research to tell the rest of us some interesting tidbits about the person’s background or motivations. If you choose you may share with us why you picked that particular character. Have you gained a new perspective or learnt something new after researching them further?

 

Please let the group know in the What’s App which person you wish to discuss so we have 10 – 12 different influential people we can talk about.

 

All of us will read the TIME write-ups on those 10 – 12 characters so we may add our views after they have been presented.

 

Are you all game for this or do we have any objections? If anyone has an objection to this format for this month I can come up with a book to read.


We missed many of you at the last book club so I'm hoping to see most of you next month.
