Hi All - so Matt put me in touch with David Forde, who is VP of Community & Government Affairs at University of the Science. He knows all the community leaders around that neighborhood. David is available for a phone call this Thursday, anytime between 12:30 and 3:00.  I think it would be great to talk with him about the location - especially since Guy did say something about the U Sciences maybe owning one side of the old 45th Street?

I am going to be traveling to Boston on Thursday, so might not be able to make a call. But if other folks are available, maybe we could set up a call with David this Thursday?

Also - I am a friend of Casey Buckley, who is a dog trainer / owner of WP Creative Pets.  As you may remember, there were some emails a few years back between the board and Casey that did not go well.  She was training members' dogs in the dog park, and the board decided to ask her not to do that. But the tones of the emails back and forth unfortunately set up a bad vibe between Casey and the board.  However - she lives on Melville Street and knows both the block captain and several other neighbors there. She said she could put me in touch with them.  Given the not-so-good contact between the board and Casey - I am thinking maybe it would be better if I work with her directly to get this info, rather than have the board reach out.

Casey says there are a number of long time families/homeowners on the block and a number of dog owners. She thinks the biggest issue will be what the hours are, and how much dog barking there will be.  She also said there is one resident who maintains a feral cat colony who may have some concerns as well.

I'll keep you all posted as I find out more.   Lynn

Lynn had a name but I don’t have any way to contact that person.  I have called Jamie Gautier’s office multiple times - during Covid you have to leave a message and hope they will call you back. Nothing yet. 

Any suggestions for other avenues would be seriously appreciated. Time is ticking away and I am embarrassed that we are stuck.
