What are you guys using to replace the moisture barriers between the door and door cards?

TIA

Great Q.  I am almost to this point and was just going to use some 6mil plastic sheeting or similar.

I have always used 6mil poly sheet.  Works as well as OE thus far.  Oldest is only 20 years or so :-)

I think I've used 3M Trim adhesive to attach plastic sheeting. I think there may be something better that makes removal and repositioning easy.

I used rope butyl to adhere mine.  Easily removable if necessary.

I've always used poly, usually heavy from packaging. 8mil or so and butyl tape. Works well, is easy to reposition and clean up.

Thin plastic sheet. 4mil?  The original stuff was paper thin.
Butyl tape to hold it in place. .

It doesn't matter as long as it doesn't have any holes and is sealed.
My preference is thicker poly for the simple fact that it can be removed without damage and reused.
But as Kelvin said the original stuff was barely thicker than saran wrap.

Rear Wheel Drive, the way God intended.
If a car is being pulled from the front, doesn't that mean it's being towed?

I can explain it to you, but I can't understand it for you.

Brock is not wrong. Go with the 6mil for removability.

Are ya having a bad day, Jordan?
I'd suggest one of the brown liquors.  😉

I use Butyl rope also, and whatever thick plastic I have around.  Ag-Bag works great, the stuff they make use to bag silage on farms (those huge caterpillar looking bags you see in a field).  Farmers happily let you take any of the used stuff, in my experience. Makes great tarps also.

Place the butyl on the door around all the open areas, then press the plastic onto it and cut away the excess.
