Bad Behaviour when sorted by trigger

I sorted by trigger. But that meant that when I changed a trigger, the item de-selected and disappeared (i.e., went to its proper place in the sort order), and inexplicably, it re-selected another item, perhaps by number in the list. Now that's crazy.

The result was that since I didn’t notice that the name had changed, I just kept wondering why the trigger was different than I entered, so I kept trying to enter it, and wound up setting a bunch of triggers to the same thing. Argh.

Seems like correct behaviour would be to re-scroll to where the trigger now appears, and keep the same trigger selected.

I didn't check, but I'll bet this applies to all the sorts, and what happens when the sorted cell is changed.

Yeah, I think that’s the same thing I reported a long time ago.

Feel free to add more detail to the issue.

Wow, that is a long time. So I see firstly that I should have posted to Issues not the forum. And secondly that there is no point posting to Issues.

If that’s how you want to look at it. 251 issues have been closed in that time.

I was trying to be funny, not hurtful. I personally have no idea how diligently the issues are attacked. Pretty much all I knew was that one had been there unresolved since 1997. Now I know a little more, that 251 were resolved. If we assume that 1997 is the original issue, then that means that an issue is solved on average every 33 days. Is that good or bad?

I’m just a hobby programmer, but I’ll bet I could fix a select after sort issue in less than a day. Then again, I’ll bet there are some I might never be able to solve.

I guess I’m saying, maybe pick the low hanging fruit, i.e., clean up the easy ones first. Like the one I posted about.
