So, I went to downloads, and on that page it said "The latest release for

So I hit the button, but got exactly the same thing I got from MacUpdate, a
6.8 mb file called Quicksilver 1.6.1.qspkg which would not install because
the package was corrupt.
Sorry about that. The update system seems to have treated it like a plug-in instead of an application update. You could have renamed the .qspkg to .dmg, but there’s no way to know that. Anyway, it should be fixed on the site now.
I saw on the forum that it is 'strongly recommended' to install plugins
from the preferences, so I went there, but saw no way to do so. I hit the
plugins tab which says it is to find and install plugins, but no. In the
'all plugins' list, there is no Quicksilver 1.6.1 item.
Checking the box to enable a plug-in also installs it if you don’t already have it, but that’s not what you would do for a new version of the application.
