Is there a way to send a message to someone (using Messages) through Quicksilver?

Several years ago I had a post with an AppleScript that used to work for this. Haven't tried it in a while though, and for some reason Google groups won't let me paste a link on mobile.

Search for quicksilver messages site:n8henrie.com, should be easy to find.

Aww, bummer. I was hoping there was a way built into Quicksilver. I think this may be a bit over my head. 😕 Thanks anyway though. 🙂

Well it's one of a dozen or so plug-ins I'd really like to build (likely in Swift) -- I'll look into the possibility soon.

There was a Chat Support plug-in that supported both iChat and Adium, but it stopped working long ago. I’m not sure if it’s even possible to send using Messages with modern security limitations, but it would be cool to get that functionality back.

Just went through these two old posts -- the AppleScript required 2 or 3 keywords to be changed but afterwards still seems to work fine. I've updated the gists to reflect the required changes.

It would still be much better if the third pane reflected conversation threads instead of contacts (since it seems to need the phone number to be sent, not the contact name).
