Started using my phone on 13th jan and hence it's one month now.... So jotting down my yays and nays, especially from hardware POV as the software would be same across all.
Feel free to ask anything if I haven't included it here.
Pros
1) keyboard - ( The reason why I went for KEY2 rather than KEY2 LE )it took me around a week to get used to typing on physical keyboard again after using glass typing where I used to use swipe to type method rather than click individual key, it wasn't that great experience but it was the best way there. Now I feel good that rather than depending on autocorrect to type, I punch in most of my words ( except occasional flicking ) keeps my vocabulary also in check. Now I have come back to touch typing level, can see TV and chat. And not lifting the finger to type feels super too.
Took me longer to get hold of flicking gesture especially the centre one ( I thought it was an issue but turns out there's a learning curve to it ) also, won't go in details about the shortcuts or the speed key, would just say that it's awesome.
2) BlackBerry Hub - after using BlackBerry Hub for 10 months on a non BlackBerry device, I can say that it is so much better and smooth on a BlackBerry device (6 GB RAM might have something to do with too.)
3) RAM - 6GB RAM is really good, don't feel lag or something while switching apps or even any lag. ( a 6 + 128 GB combo would have been a killer.)
4) Battery - even though I am writing it in pros, but I really don't like it. I am a person of habit, I usually get up around 3 AM that's when I plug in all my devices for charging and then go back to sleep and when I get up at around 5 finally it's charged or almost charged, but KEY2 battery lasts for around 1 and a half day, that means I either plug in with around 40% battery or I change my schedule ( hate both).
5) improved DTEK - the security features must be same across all devices, but I really like the pop up notification when stuff like microphone is accessed.
Neither yay or nay
1) camera - I don't believe in a multi-purpose device therefore I think a camera is a separate gadget, and use my phone camera only for documentation of documents not capturing memories. And also to a huge extent where most of the captured images don't touch a PC or printer the 'camera quality' depends a lot on the screen quality. I have read the reviews and seen youtube videos saying the camera is horrible, I did take a couple of shots in portrait mode in well lit indoor set up, and it was quite good. And even though there's no OIS the video was almost good ( I have quite stable hands too).
Cons -
1) Screen size - till KEYone I had no issue with screen size but now I have trouble watching a couple of videos or images in portrait orientation as the whole thing doesn't fit in the screen especially while watching videos, have to scroll up and down continously to watch it. ( happens often, but happens. Especially with the non professional videos)
2) Speaker - the speakers are SO loud ( many will consider it a positive thing)... I keep na na na na song by chemical romance as my ringtone, so whenever I am out the person sitting beside me is startled everytime the phone rings, when outside the house even in metro, I lower the ring volume. I forget all the time to look for a milder tone.
3) Still waiting for any news about the pie update.
4) keyboard - while the English keyboard is all mighty the 2nd language support is pathetic, while other devices ( both iOS and Android) have feature where you type in english and it itself turns it into Hindi, here it's some neolithic nonsense, even the emojis keyboard sucks big time.
If I remember anything at later date, will add it here...
