Hello. My name is Akiho Kawada and I am an undergraduate student in my 3rd year at the University of Tokyo, majoring in engineering.

I am reaching out to express my enthusiasm for the “TinyParrot" project listed for the Google Summer of Code, attracted by its aim to optimize BlackParrot for educational purposes.

I am sending this message to this mailing list to better understand some of the technical details mentioned.
Firstly, I must admit that my current understanding of the "MFD extensions" is somewhat limited. Could you kindly provide a brief overview or point me to resources that elucidate exactly what these MFD extensions entail?
Additionally, I am interested in understanding more about the parts of the current BlackParrot codebase where these extensions are integrated but not yet parameterized. Identifying these specific areas would be invaluable for directing my efforts towards the project's optimization goals more effectively.

Best regards,

Akiho Kawada

Hi Akiho,

The RISC-V ISA manual details these extensions. https://github.com/riscv/riscv-isa-manual
