Interested in an introductory talk on Computational Neuroscience?

Hi Everyone !,

I am Darshan, a Ph.D. student in Dept. of Biosceinces. I work in the field of computational neurophysiology. In this sub-field of computational neuroscience, we try to understand the working of nervous system by using computational models.

I see that there have beeen lots of talks, discussions, posts related to neuroscience, and there is a lot of interest in the group for this domain. If enough people are interested and are not saturated with the topic :) , I can give an introductory talk on computational neuroscience next week maybe on Tuesday or Wednesday. I am flexible with the dates. If coming holidays and academic work is a problem, we can have it after holi.

The presentation will have a brief introduction to computational neuroscience with some demonstrations of biologically detailled single neuron models and neural network models. Do let me know by replying here if interested.

Hey Darshan!

We will keep it on the Wednesday after Holi i.e. 30th of March if it suits you.

Those of you who want it on Sunday, on the Holi weekend, we can have it if Darshan is comfortable and people are available to conduct it as both I and Siddhant are unavailable then.

Its really heartwarming to see people enthu to give talks!

PS. If someone wants to talk on Cell mechanics and its locomotion do tell me!

Both Wednesday (30th March) and Sunday(27th March) are fine with me. As of now, any other date in that week will also be ok. If there is any mutually acceptable day on which we have all the interested junta and organizers available, we can have it then.

Since many of the freshies have CS Lab from 8:30 to 10:30 ( except on Fridays), it would be great if the talk could be scheduled to start after 10:30 or end before 8:30.

Lets finalize it for Wednesday 30th March (non-negotiable unless Darshan has some pain).
                          Time : 9:30 or 10pm

@Puja : Exam ke liye pehle se taiyaari kar lena :P

@Thariq : 10pm should be fine even for CS Lab junta...a lot of people are done with it by then and you can anyways join later.
