Basic Logit Model

Dear Prof. Bierlaire,

I have some basic questions about the multinomial logit model (I'm just a begginer on using Biogeme) and I would appreciate if you could help me:

1. Is possible to use qualitative variables on my model? Or should I convert every one in numerical variable/dummy? For exemple, what should I do with answers in likert scale. How does Biogeme know if I'm using a qualitative or a quantitative variable (or even a dummy)?

2. Is possible to generate a model if I had NaN values on my database?

All variables must be numeric in terms of format. Qualitative variables must be coded numerically in one way or the other.

2. Is possible to generate a model if I had NaN values on my database?

You need to replace all NaN by “99999”, which is the default code for missing values.
