Audio is Looping/Echoing

During my online classes using BBB, my students (and in the recording) are only hearing looped or echoing audio when I play a video. This began after the update. It's completely impossible to understand the audio.

Any advice?

One of your students has a microphone and a large amplifier on the loudspeaker, which are also standing remotely. Ask them not to turn on the microphone unnecessarily.

This is happening to me as well. We have everyone on mute and it is still happening. The speaker is looping in their own speakers, with or without headphones, and it is causing audio to cut in and out for people who are listening. I can't find any solutions at all.

Hi Fred,

I'm not quite clear on what you mean, sorry... But the steps would be that I have my screen share on and enable audio, and then go ahead as usual to press play on a YouTube video. All participants are muted except for me. The audio is clear on my side but students' expressions immediately tell me that the audio on their side is not working. They tell me it's an echo. Then, when I watch the recording later, I indeed hear only a garbled audio on the video portion where the sound is looping/repeating. 

I could share my recording with you but I don't know how to download it off my LMS (Avenue).

I had that recently with Firefox too. It was solved on this day by using Chrome. On the next day Firefox worked again too.

At the moment I switched on my mic all others had an echo. We can't reproduce.

Hi Crytelle,

we need more info.
Are you using BBB with headset?
Are you using BBB with the built-in microphone from your laptop?
Even when you have a headset on and its plugged in, you could be using the internal mic from a laptop.
You should double and triple check that you're really using one specific mic in your setup.
